Delhi Police Special Cell arrests a terrorist in Laxmi Nagar from Pakistan


A Pakistani terrorist has been caught in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, and an AK-47 assault rifle and a hand grenade were among the items found from his hands, according to ANI on Tuesday (October 12, 2021). He has been identified as Mohd Asraf, a native of Pakistan’s Punjab province Narowal. According to the authorities, the accused was living with a forged Indian national identification card and had got the Indian identity cards by forgery.

“The Delhi Police Special Cell detains a terrorist of Pakistani origin at Ramesh Park, Laxmi Nagar. He was living using a forged Indian passport. One AK-47 assault rifle with an additional magazine and 60 bullets, one hand grenade, and two sophisticated pistols with 50 ammunition were confiscated”

The provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Explosive Act, the Arms Act, and other legislation are being used against him. Rakesh Asthana, the Commissioner of Police, supervised the special cell operation.

This comes three days after Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana met with top authorities to discuss anti-terror measures in the context of reports of a terrorist assault in the national capital over the festive period. On October 9, they also discussed how to prevent terrorists from using locals as human shields.

Earlier in the day, at least three terrorists from the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/The Resistance Front (TRF) were killed in a shootout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian region. According to the authorities, weapons, ammo, and other incriminating materials were confiscated from their possession.
