FIR registered against a group of Muslim students for allegedly assaulting their schoolmates over chanting of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’


On Tuesday, a group of Muslim teenagers harassed a 19-year-old Hindu student named Bharat Singh and others for singing Bharat Mata Ki Jai during prayer at a school in Madhya Pradesh’s Agar-Malwa district’s Barod police station. On the basis of the victim’s allegation, the Agar-Malwa district police filed an FIR against nine identified individuals under different sections of the IPC and the SC-ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. In order to preserve law and order, the district administration has also deployed police in the area. Tahir, Azhar, Azad, Shakil, Pintu, Saufi, Raja Khan, Arif Khan, and others might be among the accused.

After school, some Muslim students and others attacked Bharat Singh Rajput and his friends, beating them with sticks near Kasai mohalla. They allegedly threatened to murder them, saying, “What is mother India, who are you to tell us to chant Bharat Mata ki Jai?”

Police Report

The victim is from Amba village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Barod police station, and he is in the 12th grade at Mahavir Jain Vidya Mandir. Vivek Kanodia, in charge of the Badod police station, reports that 9 known and 9 unknown persons have been arrested on rioting and assault charges. He went on to say that the police had filed a case under sections against the students in response to Bharat Singh’s allegation, and that an FIR had been filed in the matter, and that an investigation remained underway.
