Senior Advocate and Congress Leader Salman Khurshid compares Hindutva to ISIS & Boko Haram in his new book

Senior Advocate Salman Khurshid compared Hindutva to Islamic terror organisations such as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and Boko Haram in his book ‘Sunrise over Ayodhya.’ In recent years, ISIS, one of the most feared Islamic terror groups, has been responsible for terror strikes all around the world. He made this remark in the book’s chapter titled “The Saffron Sky.”

In the chapter, Khurshid claims that Hindutva, in its current form, is a political ideology that has enslaved the old Hindu faith. Khurshid compared the politicisation of Hinduism to the Islamic terror groups ISIS and Boko Haram.

Khurshid referred to the Ram Janmabhoomi campaign as the ‘Ayodhya tale,’ claiming that the Supreme Court’s decision in favour of Ram Lalla Virajman was like one faith triumphing against another’s techniques.

Sanatan dharma and ancient Hinduism known to sages and saints was being pushed aside by a robust form of Hindutva, by all standards a political version comparable to the jihadist Islam of recent years

Later on, after a lot of social media criticism, he argued that he is not equating Hinduism to Islamic terror organisations, but rather Hindutva. He also stated that he respects the Hindu religion.

As a result, a case has been filed against him. Vivek Garg, a Delhi-based lawyer, has filed a case against him with the Delhi Police, accusing him of linking Hindutva to Islamic terrorism. Senior BJP politician and IT cell chairman Amit Malviya raised the saffron terror’ issue, claiming that the grand old party is equating it with Islamic terrorism in order to get Muslim voters. In response to Khurshid’s remarks, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia remarked, “This reveals Congress’ actual thinking. They want to legitimise ISIS’s extremist aspects by forging a false comparison with Hindus.”
