The illegal incident came into the notice of police after the police team received information about a Bangladeshi national living in a residential society in Changodar area in Ahmedabad district.
A Bangladeshi woman was nabbed by a Special Operation Group of Ahmedabad Rural Police in Gujarat. The Bangladeshi woman named Shirina Akhtar Hossain (33) was living by the name of Sonuben Hitesh Joshi. She was living in Ahmedabad since 2017 in a live-in relationship with a Hindu man.
Shirina is a native of Jessore district in Bangladesh. She was allegedly living with fake identity proofs in Satyesh Residency society in Changodar, Ahmedabad. She was living with her three year old daughter at the residential society. She came to India in 2017 on a tourist visa and did not return to Bangladesh after the VISA expired.
The Police also found a fake Adhaar card, PAN Card of the accused under the name of Sonu Joshi, the accused also had an Indian passport registered at the Changodar based address.
The woman, met Hitesh Joshi, a broker, whom she met on Facebook. She came to India, and concealed her identity. She was living with Hitesh, they also had a daughter in 2018.
“The duo were living together in Ahmedabad and even after her VISA expired Shirina did not return to Bangladesh. Later, she had a child with Joshi and she managed to get fake identity documents as the wife of Hitesh Joshi. She was arrested on Thursday night and presented before a court today and has been remanded in five-day police custody.”
The matter came into light when Hitesh died in a fatal accident in Kheda about 20-25 days ago. Shirina was accused of bringing misfortune in the life of Hitesh by his parents.
The woman has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 406 for Criminal Breach of trust, 419 for cheating with impersonation, 465 for forgery, 468 for forgery for purpose of cheating, 471 for fraudulently using as genuine any forged document and sections of the Foreigners Act and the Passport Act.
