CJI NV Ramana restored bus services in a village in Telangana

Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana recently restored bus services in a small village in Telangana after an eight-year-old girl wrote him a letter, bringing to his notice the issue.

P Vaishnavi, from Rangareddy district said that she and her siblings, Preethi and Praneeth were facing issues in going to school and college since there were no means of transport in her village and the bus service to her village was stopped in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. She said that along with her, many other people were also facing similar problems.

She requested the CJI to interfere in the matter and restore the bus services. In her letter she memtioned that her father passed away due to cardiac arrest last year during the first wave of Covid and her mother was a single earning woman hence she can’t afford to hire auto-rickshaw to go to school.

CJI responded to the letter by alerting the MD of TSRTC, VC Sajjanar to restore the bus service to transport the students on school timings in token of honouring the Right to Education of children.

The MD of TSRTC thanked the Chief Justice for alerting them on the issue they also appreciated Vaishnavi for raising her voice and taking an initiative of writing the letter.

TSRTC MD said that it is committed to the right of education to children and also assured that it will provide connectivity between the cities and villages for the benefits of students in the entire state.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) restored the bus service to the Chidedu village.
