Former Union Minister Arun Jaitley was conferred Padma Vibhushan award posthumously on Monday, November 8.
The family members of Late Arun Jaitley collected the award on their behalf.
Rohan Jaitley, son of Late Arun Jaitley thanked PM Modi for honouring his father’s legacy.
“My father Shri Arun Jaitley may no longer be amongst us, but his work and vision will always remain a part of our lives of millions of Indians. I thank PM Shri Narendra Modi ji for honouring his legacy and contribution, by conferring upon him the Padma Vibhushan.”
Arun Jaitley’s wife was presented the award by the honourable President Shri Ramnath Kovind.
Ramnath Kovind presented the award to Shri Arun Jaitley for Public Affairs, he appreciated the personality and contribution of Late Arun Jaitley in the field of law.
“An outstanding Parliamentarian and a distinguished lawyer, he made significant contributions in judicial reforms, electoral reforms and progressive social and economic legislations.”

President Ram Nath Kovind presented 119 Padma awards that included seven Padma Vibhushan, ten Padma Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri Awards.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar were also present at the event.
